Looking inside the Timeprog settings
A few general remarks:
- To unset a parameter you leave the edit field empty, tick the transfer box and send it to the module.
- you can enter whatever you want into the edit fields, only those, were the checkbox is ticked will be really sent
- P55 Sample Rate
The sample rate is the rate the module will collect data from the MAG8000
Fastest possible rate is once a minute. - P56 Transmission intervall
This is the rate the module will transfer emails
Fastest possible rate is once an hour - P62 Transmit Time
This has been added since the Firmwareupdate in January 2017.
Modules with older firmware are not aware of this parameter and will respond with an ERROR SMS!
Please be also aware that this functionality will not work before the MAG8000 firmware has also been updated!
From now on you can also set the time the transmission will happen.
You will also need to set P47 and P48 to make this work!
For older versions it could be a nightmare to select the correct transmission time:
Whenever the module receives a new configuration SMS it will use this time as new transmission time.
If you wanted the module to send mails at 06:00 each day, and at the moment it sends at 13:00 each day, you would need:
- send a P56=17h to the module before 13:00!
- the module will awake as usual at 13:00 and gets the new transmit time (17h), which means it will awake next time at (13:00 + 17h =>) 06:00
- Now send a P56=24h to the module after 13:00 but before 06:00!
- The module will awake at 06:00 and gets the new transmit interval (24h). From now on it will send each day at 06:00 - P61 Sync Time
This belongs to P55 and has nothing to do with the transmission of data!
It is used, when you are having more than just one MAG8000 with GPRS module and want to make sure that all data gets collected synchronized.
Then you can easily compare the values directly. - P48 NTP-Server
This has been added since the Firmwareupdate in January 2017.
Modules with older firmware are not aware of this parameter and will respond with an ERROR SMS!
NTP = Network Time Protocol
Those are internet servers which provide a highly accurate time.
You can use it to make sure the timestamp of the values is abolutely correct.
Otherwise it will use the internal clock of the MAG8000 which is not that accurate. - P47 Time Zone
This has been added since the Firmwareupdate in January 2017.
Modules with older firmware are not aware of this parameter and will respond with an ERROR SMS!
NTP servers provide the time in UTC format (UTC = Coordinated universal time), which is independant of time zones.
Therefore you need to set the correct timezone also.
